The most important Christian Book is The Holy Bible. There is a massive amount of materials out there being sold under the banner of Christianity. They range from being very good to that which cannot be discribed any other way than deceptive and evil. So be careful what you and your loved ones "feed" on. The best protection against deception is to know The Bible well. How will you know what is error unless you have seen the truth. See also the notes under the Church link.

There are more than 20 Bible versions in the English language alone and these can be found in many versions in their own right. For your first I recommend the New International Version (often referred to as the NIV) If you want more guidance as you read the Bible for those times when you have to ask questions like “this a strange verse or passage – what are they talking about?” then may I recommend the “Life Application Study Bible” in NIV format (ISBN # 0310603641). It may cost more than you expect but it is actually very good value. If you are comfortable with the English language I encourage you to also study from the King James Bible (also known as the KJV or King James Authorised Version) Although written in an older English than we use today this version is truly blessed.
